Meet the Admissions Team

Brian Gilbert, Director of Admissions
I grew up just outside Philadelphia and then came to DC for college. Since graduating, I have worked in Independent Catholic Schools around DC for over 20 years, serving as a teacher, Campus Minister, Admissions Director, Dean of Faculty, and Dean of Students. I had always known about The Abbey, and I was drawn to their commitment to academic excellence above all else.  When I walked onto this campus, I felt a deep sense of peace.  The same peaceful feeling that has drawn Benedictine Monks to this place for over a century.
Fenner Gibson, Assistant Director of Admissions
After a decade-plus in English and history classrooms across the DMV, I was eager to explore a different side of independent school life. A native Washingtonian, I had always heard such wonderful things about St. Anselm's and its academic program, so I was drawn to learn more about it. The school’s intentional approach to developing thoughtful, well-rounded, and ethical young men is evident to me every day on campus. I'm thrilled that I wound up at The Abbey!
Alex Edsall ’10, Admissions Ambassador
I am the Physical Education Coordinator, as well as the JV basketball and middle school baseball coach. I graduated from The Abbey in 2010 and was inclined to reach out to my varsity baseball coach for a voluntary assistant position in 2016. I was hired to teach P.E. a year later, and I haven’t looked back!
